Apple has released version 27.2 updates across its operating systems, adding conversational memory to Siri AI, expanding the assistant’s access to personal information and introducing support for five additional languages. The rollout covers iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS, with features varying by platform.

Siri’s new memory capability allows it to retain useful context from earlier interactions and draw on that information in subsequent conversations. On iOS, the assistant can also use a broader range of personal data when answering questions, including voicemails and attachments in Messages. These changes extend both the conversational history and the types of information available to Siri when it prepares a response.

Alongside that broader access, iOS 27.2 introduces an Excluded Apps setting. The control lets users choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. That gives users an app-level way to limit the information available to those features, even as the update expands the assistant’s sources of personal context.

Siri AI now supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English. The language expansion does not remove its geographic restrictions: the service remains unavailable in Europe and mainland China. Language support and regional availability are separate constraints, so the addition of a language does not mean the service is available everywhere that language is spoken.

On iPhone, the Siri AI enhancements are supported on all iPhone 16 models and later, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The broader operating-system update includes changes beyond the assistant, but those Siri features are limited to the specified hardware.

Messages gains suggestions that use the context of a conversation to offer actions in other apps, including Calendar and Reminders. An invitation received in a message, for example, can prompt a suggestion to create a calendar entry. The feature brings a related action into the messaging workflow rather than requiring users to transfer the details manually.

Other iOS additions include SynthID watermarking support in Photos, user profiles in the Apple TV app and refreshed Apple Music branding. The release also delivers previously promised Apple Pencil support for the iPhone Duo foldable.

On the Mac, macOS Golden Gate 27.2 adds Siri’s contextual memory and the same five additional Siri AI languages, alongside bug fixes and security updates. The Apple Watch update similarly concentrates on Siri-related improvements. visionOS 27.2 includes the expanded language support and an updated Music icon.

The releases share a version number, but they do not carry an identical set of additions. Siri’s expanded context and language capabilities form the main common thread, while features such as Messages suggestions, app-access controls and Apple Pencil support are among the changes detailed for iOS.
